Failed Charge Attempts or Apparently "Duplicate" Charges:
This information applies to ALL credit/debit card charge declines, or apparent duplicate charges regardless of reason.
When you attempt to place an order(s) in our online store and your credit card is declined, you may see what appears to be a charge(s) on your online credit card statement.
If you made multiple order attempts you may see multiple (apparent) charges.
This situation occurs when your card provider (not us) places a temporary hold on the attempted (but failed) authorization amount. We have no control over their actions.
The hold on these failed charge attempts will automatically "wash out" and disappear after a period of a few days. The exact timing varies by card issuer.
If you call your card issuer, they may tell you these are actual charges. **They are not** Some credit card call center employees do not understand or are unwilling to explain to you the difference between a "failed authorization" and a "capture" of funds.)
**No action is necessary or possible, by you or us, for this wash out to occur.** We cannot contact your card issuer and ask them to remove the failed authorization.
To avoid future declines by your card issuer:
-Be sure that the address that your credit card statement is mailed to matches the "Bill To" address that you supplied in our shopping cart.
-Be sure you have sufficient funds/credit limit on your account.
-Be sure your card issuer isn't blocking international transactions (some do).
-Be sure you entered the correct card number, expiration date, CVV (3-digits on back) code
-After 1-2 failed charge attempts, your card provider will usually "lock" your card and prevent purchase approval even if you then enter all correct information. You have to then call them and ask them to unlock your card.
A successful order in our online store will result in an "Order Confirmation" email being automatically generated. If you did not receive a confirmation email, then your order did not go through and no funds were captured from your credit card.
**I personally guarantee you that no charge for an unsuccessful purchase attempt will appear on your monthly paper statement.** In the entire time we have been in business, we have never charged a card in error when the order did not go through.
Thank you for your trust and support.
